Don’t fret because your stove does not need a replacement, but it is in dire need of deep cleaning. Clogged caps and grates are the most common reasons behind low flame output despite the knob being turned at high intensity mark.

Oil, water, and food spills on the burner often lead buildup in the air holes. It does not let enough LPG burn at the required rate due to which you experience this issue. If you turn the flame to a lower setting, it is highly likely that you will witness flickering fire or barely any flame. If your burner is doing the same, here are a few cleaning hacks to try out.

Baking Soda Paste

Yes, baking soda will help you get rid of clogged air holes. If you thought kitchen cleaning was possible without it, you are going to be proven wrong. Make a thick paste in a bowl by mixing baking soda with water. Apply it on the burner and leave it for 15-20 minutes to loosen up food and dit. Use a brush or sponge to remove the paste along with the grease and debris.

Clean With Steam

For this hack, you do not have to subject the burner steam coming out from hot water. Take a ziplock bag, add ammonia in it, and let the burner sit inside it for a night. Fumes alone from ammonia will break down food particles, grease, and dirt. When you open the bag, make sure not to inhale directly. Empty the ziplock bags in the sink with tap water on and wipe off the burners.

Ammonia And Dish Soap

Visit any nearby market, and you will get ammonia. Mix it in equal parts with dish soap and soak the burner and grates in it. You will need to leave the parts overnight to let the mixture work its magic. Not only does this combination help to remove grease and soften grime, it also makes the process of cleaning less laborious. Instead of arm workout while scrubbing the burner, you can soak it at night, scrub it gently with a brush next morning, and rinse with water.

Boiling Water

If you don’t want to use ammonia, a bowl of boiling water will do the same trick. You must be cautious of using a large container for this. Leave burner caps and grater in the boiling water for at least 30 minutes and close the lid. After opening the lid, add a few drops of liquid dish wash to water and scrub off the burners and graters with a toothbrush. 

Soak In Vinegar

White vinegar is another solution in which you can immerse the burners and graters. However, first mix it with water in the 1:1 ratio. Leave the equipment inside for 20-30 minutes, and the vinegar solution while loosening up the grease, dirt, and grime. After half an hour, take a toothbrush and scrub off the burners thoroughly. 

Lemon And Salt Scrub

Lemon and salt scrub not only works on removing tanning, it can also help to clean the burners and graters in the kitchen. Cut a lemon in half and apply salt on the open area. Start scrubbing it on the surface of the burner while squeezing lemon juice all over it. Since lemons are acidic, it helps to escalate the cleaning process. You can also do this after soaking the burners in vinegar or boiling water.
