* Milk Residue Test

This is a great method of checking whether the Desi Ghee is pure or not. To perform this test, one has to simply put the ghee on a white paper. Now this must be kept on the white paper for a few hours without being disturbed or touched. Within a few hours, the impurities or the residues will start coming out on the paper. This means that some other substances have been mixed with ghee as pure Desi Ghee never leaves any kind of residuals.

* Aroma And Colour

This is a very basic and simple criterion to check if the Desi Ghee is pure or not. This can be done at the time of purchasing the Desi ghee. Pure desi ghee always has a very pleasant and organic aroma of dairy and milk. On the other hand, adulterated desi ghee will always have an unusual or artificial fragrance that has been given with the help of chemicals. Pure Desi Ghee always has a light golden colour. Artificial or impure Desi Ghee

will have a yellowish colour that has been given artificially. By looking at the texture, the colour and the aroma of the ghee, one can detect if it's pure or not.

* Clarity

Generally, the type of ghee that is extremely poor will always have a smooth texture. The texture will be uniform and alike. On the other hand, artificial or impure ghee will always have a grainy texture that is cloudy and full of different types of particles. This irregular texture of ghee is a sign of impurity. Ghee that is pure and high in quality will always remain clear at room temperature. On the other hand, any kind of impure Ghee

will look like it's a mixture of a lot of particles at room temperature.

* Burn Test

This is a simple test that can be done at home by taking a teaspoon of ghee and then putting it in a pan. Now ghee that is pure will melt extremely quickly and will not produce any kind of smoke. It will also not give any bad odour or specifically burnt smell. On the other hand, any ghee that is full of impurities will create a lot of smoke and give out an absurd smell. Some types of desi ghee might also start burning as soon as they are heated to a slightly high temperature. This is a sign that the Desi Ghee is artificial and not pure.

* Refrigeration Test

This test is performed by putting the Desi Ghee in a refrigerator for some hours. The authentic ghee will become solid and will not crystallise. There will be no kind of separation and the solidification will be quite uniform. On the other hand, if a particular type of ghee starts to solidify in different layers and textures, then it simply means that it is of lower quality and there might be some additives.

* Water Dissolution

Through this simple test, one can easily assess if the ghee that is being used is pure or not. To perform this, a small amount of ghee is taken and put in a glass of warm water. Any ghee that is impure will instantly dissolve without leaving any traces or clumps. On the other hand, if a particular type of ghee doesn't get dissolved very easily and leaves small clumps or residues, then it may mean that certain types of additives or impurities are present in the ghee

.

These are some simple ways to check if the ghee that is being used is pure or impure.
