Bridgerton is a hit Netflix show that captivates you with juicy drama and fancy old-timey clothes. It's set back in the 1800s in London, England and follows a rich family called the Bridgertons. They're always going to fancy parties and trying to find husbands and wives. The main character is Daphne Bridgerton. She's the beautiful oldest daughter who really wants to get married. But things get messy when she starts hanging out with the Duke of Hastings, who's a total player. Will they end up together? Who knows!

Daphne's got a bunch of brothers and sisters who are also looking for love. Her brother Anthony needs to find a proper lady to marry, but he's afraid of falling in love. Her sister Eloise wants a husband who likes the fact that she's smart and independent. Throughout the show, it's fun to watch how the ups and downs of dating back then are kind of like dating today.

The Dirty Duke Martini

This cocktail is inspired by the character of the Duke of Hastings, one of the most wanted bachelors in London. This martini uses his name as inspiration. Martinis are usually made "dirty" with olive juice. But this martini is dirty in a new way—with pickled juice instead!

Ingredients:

  1. 60 ml dry vermouth (for glass rinse)
  2. 120 ml vodka
  3. 30 ml of pickle juice
  4. Ice
  5. Pickle spears for garnish

Method:

  1. Add a splash of dry vermouth to a chilled martini glass and swirl it around to coat the sides. Discard any excess vermouth.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add the vodka and pickle juice. Shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds.
  3. Strain the martini into the prepared glass. Spear a pickle for garnish and serve.

Lady Whistledown’s Gimlet

This drink is inspired by the sharp-tongued Lady Whistledown. It is made with vodka and St. Germain elderflower liqueur, which is less sweet than most liqueurs. The drink has refreshing lime and cucumber flavours, just like Lady Whistledown's fun gossip about high society.

Ingredients:

  1. 60 ml of Coppercraft Gin
  2. 7 ml of Thatcher's Organic Elderflower Liqueur
  3. 7 ml of Thatcher's Organic Cucumber Liqueur
  4. 7 ml simple syrup
  5. 30 ml of lime juice

Method:

  1. Put the gin, elderflower liqueur, cucumber liqueur, simple syrup and lime juice into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake well to combine.
  2. Strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a lime wedge and a cucumber slice.

The Featherington Flirtini

As the Featherington daughters are looking for husbands during the social season, their mother, the Baroness, tells them to be bold but modest when they flirt with men. She says they should be like the strawberry and thyme flavours in a martini - bold yet delicate.

Ingredients:

  1. 60 ml strawberry vodka (I used Three Olives Strawberry Vodka)
  2. 60 ml of regular vodka
  3. 30 ml St. Germain elderflower liqueur
  4. Juice of 1 lemon wedge
  5. 2 sprigs of fresh thyme (plus 1 more for garnish)

Method:

  1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle 1 strawberry. Add ice, strawberry vodka, regular vodka, St. Germain, lemon juice, and 1 sprig of thyme. Shake vigorously to blend and chill.
  2. Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with the remaining sprig of thyme.

Forbidden Love

This drink is inspired by the forbidden love stories of Bridgerton. Penelope Featherington has a crush on Colin. Anthony Bridgerton falls for Siena, an opera singer, even though it's not allowed.

Ingredients:

  1. 90-ml gin
  2. 30 ml of fresh lime juice
  3. 30 ml elderflower liqueur
  4. 180 ml brut rosé Champagne
  5. Rose petal ice cubes

Method:

  1. Add the gin, elderflower liqueur, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds until chilled.
  2. Strain into a glass filled with your homemade rose petal ice cubes.
  3. Top up with rosé champagne and gently stir to combine.
  4. Garnish with a lime wheel or fresh rose petal. Enjoy this light and lovely cocktail!
