In most cases, the nuts and fruits are caramelised and left aside to harden. Once done, you can store these, keep them on your dining table, or hide them in your cupboard to enjoy the sweet treats at your convenience. Below mentioned are a few recipes that you must try out.
Cashew Or Almond Praline
All you need to make cashew or almond candies are cashews/ almonds, sugar, butter, and oil. In a nonstick pan, allow the sugar to melt in oil and butter. Stir the mixture continuously to prevent it from burning or sticking to the surface. Once the sugar turns into liquid, turn off the flame, and add cashews/ almonds to it. After mixing the ingredients, spread them on a baking sheet, and allow the candies to cool off.
Walnut Praline
Walnut praline is not only good for your taste buds but also for your health. If your children don’t like walnuts, you can turn them into candies and be surprised how soon they will vanish. In a heavy saucepan, add sugar and continuously stir it until the granules dissolve. You can also opt for jaggery. Add butter and walnuts after turning off the flame and spread the mixture on a baking tray. After letting it cool off for an hour, cut it into small pralines.
Pistachio Pralines
Pistachio pralines are a mix of salty and sweet flavours. Not only are they delicious but also one of a kind that you can enjoy at any time of the day. Start by toasting pistachios in a pan until they are slightly brown and crispy. Melt sugar in a little amount of water and bring it to a boil. Turn off the flame and add toasted pistachios and butter to the mix. After 10-15 minutes, add a few drops of vanilla essence and allow everything to cool off. Chop the hardened mixture into small candies and enjoy.
Hazelnut Praline
To make hazelnut pralines, you need to toast them in a saucepan. This will help you remove their skin easily and add a crunch to them. Keep them aside and melt sugar in the same pan until it caramelises and achieves a soft brown hue. Turn off the flame and toss in vanilla extract and toasted hazelnuts to the mix.
Macadamia Nut Pralines
Imagine eating a piece of candy that is sweet and crunchy. Macadamia nuts are the perfect ingredients to make such a batch of pralines. Toast the nuts until they are crispy and remove them to cool off. Heat a saucepan and add sugar, cream, and butter to it. After stirring on medium heat, turn off the flame. Add toasted nuts and vanilla essence to the creamy sugar syrup before spreading it on the baking sheet. After an hour, you can enjoy the treat.
