It's 'wooden time' as people prefer wooden furniture like floor, wardrobe, bed, table etc. Nowadays, people also like to keep their kitchen cabinets in wooden style. Apart from all these things, there is one such thing that I mostly prefer to keep wooden: that is the 'Wooden Masala Box'. But do you know it is essential to maintain its cleanliness; otherwise, it may spoil the spice? Significantly during monsoon (rainy days), the herbs often get damaged due to moisture. In such a situation, we will give you some easy tips, by adopting which you can easily clean the wooden box.

Use wet cloth

Many people leave the wooden spice box as it is after cleaning it with a wet cloth. This shouldn't ever be done instead, especially in the rainy season, because moisture does not let it dry quickly and spoils the spices.

  1. First of all, squeeze the wet cloth well.
  2. After pressing the fabric, clean the bottom of the box thoroughly.
  3. After cleaning the inside part, keep it in the sun for about half an hour.

Use vinegar

You can use vinegar to remove the stubborn stains on the wooden spice box. For this:

  1. Prepare a mixture by adding two to three spoons of vinegar to a cup of water.
  2. Now spray this mixture well inside and outside the box and leave it after some time.
  3. Clean it with a brush, wipe it with a clean cloth and keep it in the sun.

Don't use too much water

Are you aware that using excess water for cleaning wooden things means spoilage?

  1. In this case, clean the box with water but in significantly less quantity.
  2. Even after washing with water, put the box in the sun for at least two to three hours.
  3. Keep the box away from the damp as there is a fear of spoiling the spices.

Keep these things in mind

  1. Keep the wooden spice box at a distance from the gas stove.
  2. Apart from this, after using spices, wipe the box once or twice and keep it inside.
  3. Also, always avoid keeping the spice box near wet utensils.
